Takara Horizon fixed gear, 57cm
Takara Horizon completely rebuilt and converted to a fixed gear. The frame and chrome-tipped fork are in great condition. This vintage lugged Japanese bike, built by Kuwahara, probably dates back to the late 80s. It has an interesting burnt orange/copper and gold color paint job. In keeping with this aesthetic, I outfitted this conversion with black and gold and chrome details. The flip flop wheelset has a 700c semi-arrow rims laced to a generic black 32 hole hubset. This comes new tubes under with a pair of 700 x 23c low mileage Super CST with gold sidewalls. The 170mm Sugino crank has a black aluminum 48t chainring on it with a new gold 1/8” KMC chain, as well as a new black 17t 1/8” cog and lockring. The pedals are new black cage Forte platforms. This conversion includes a brand new, low profile, lightweight saddle, a drop forged Dia-Compe quill stem, and black riser bars finished off with new gold Deda handlebar tape. Although no brakes are currently installed, if desired I will install a front caliper and finger lever at no additional cost. At 57cm, this unique build would be a great fit for anyone between 5’-6” and 6’-0” tall.
